Bridge of Weir is at the centre of a leisure and recreation catchment area to rival anywhere in the UK.

With the Clyde & Muirshiel Country Park and Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park within a 10 minute and 40 minutes drive respectively, it won’t take long for you to be in the Scottish wilderness and enjoying everything it has to offer.

With a wide array of mainstream sports and many other types of outdoor pastimes being well catered for, you will definitely not be disappointed with what is available on the doorstep.  Quality golf courses, tennis courts, swimming/leisure pools, cycle paths, etc., it's all here and within very easy reach.

Clyde & Muirshiel Country Park www.clydemuirshiel.co.uk offers long country walks over established trails as well as water sports, mountain biking, an RSPB bird sanctuary, junior outdoor activity days, outdoor BBQ areas and it’s on National Cycle Route 75. The nearest access point to NCR75 is less than 5 minutes pedal from the farm.  We are able to provide access to a cycle hire service from a nearby cycle shop.  Please enquire direct for further details.

Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park www.lochlomond-trossachs.org is one of Scotland’s natural gems and words here cannot begin to describe all it has to offer. From walking, climbing its 21 Munro’s, its nature and wildlife, camping, water sports and its history will occupy you for days in its 720 sq miles!

Paisley is Scotland’s largest town and the home of the renowned Paisley Pattern and its famous Coats and Patons mills manufactured threads and laces that were sold across the world.  The  stunning 12th century Abbey, which is still in daily use and open to the public, regularly has recitals and concerts.  The Paisley Museum and Thread Mill will take you on an educational tour of the town and its significant role within Scottish history.  www.paisley.org.uk

Glasgow is Scotland’s multi-cultural beating heart and offers something for everyone.  It is a very cosmopolitan and welcoming city; a shoppers paradise and will surprise everyone who visits for the first time.  With easy to reach transport links, you can be be in the city centre within 30 minutes from the farm.  www.peoplemakeglasgow.com

Edinburgh is a refined cultural feast to rival any European capital city and it’s much more than a castle on a hill.  The history of the City will keep you occupied for weeks, never mind its fine dining and world class boutiques.  Its tram system allows you to reach the city from the airport right in to the city centre and beyond.  www.edinburgh.org

Cycling The National Cycle Route 75 is a 5-minute pedal from the farm and provides easy access to the east and west of Scotland and all other national routes.  www.sustrans.org.uk/national-cycle-network/route-75

Cycle Hire We are pleased to offer this all-round year service to our guests. Minimum hire period is 1-week and they are mainly mountain bikes and available in various frame sizes. The hire cost for each bike is £70 per bike per week and certain child seats are available at extra cost.  We may also be able to provide hire helmets.  All items subject to availability and hire conditions.

An indoor ski / snow board complex, 10 pin bowling Laser Station and leisure play centre for kids of all ages! Lots of well-known high street food outlets TGI Fridays, Nando’s, Pizza Express, Five Guys, Frankie & Benny’s, etc. Right next door to Braehead Shopping Centre for that bit of yin and yang!

The immediate local area, covering Bridge of Weir, Kilmacolm and Houston, is blessed with plenty of good quality restaurants, café bistro’s and bars, serving the main varieties of traditional and ethnic food that you would expect. There is a mix of family run and group managed restaurants and bars to choose from below and offer good quality at reasonable prices.

As well as tasty Italian and quality Scottish Fayre, Bridge of Weir has the oldest Indo-Pak restaurant in Scotland outside Glasgow! It has been in the village for over 45 years and still run by the original owner Muhammad Shafiq and his family – a must if you like curries!


Go slightly further afield to Johnstone and Linwood, 10 minutes by car, and you will find traditional Italian and high-street outlets such as Nando's, Taco Bell, McDonald's, Brewers Fayre, etc. at the Phoenix Retail Park.
